Monochrome Suiting

I’ve been thinking a lot about the holidays, since they’re coming in like a freight train. (How is Thanksgiving already next week?!)

The holidays bring a lot of mixed emotions for a lot of people, myself included. My gut reaction to the holiday season is joy and excitement, which is a good thing. But when I start to think below the surface, I start to get anxious and frankly, stressed out. I am a sibling of 3, and we are children of divorced parents. Our parents got divorced when we were very young, so that concept in general, we’re used to.
And you’d think as we got older, things would get easier, which might be the case if everything stayed the same. If both my parents still lived in the same houses we grew up in, and if my sister didn’t just get married, and if my brother didn’t have a serious girlfriend, and if my dad’s and his wife didn’t live part time in WA and part time and ID, and if she didn’t have two kids of her own, and I could go on, but you get the picture.

It seems like there are a lot of balls in the air at all times, and a lot of people to make happy. I’m not complaining. My point is, with this post, I’m trying to bring myself back to earth, and remind all of you to remember whats important. It’s easy to get caught up in all the directions we’re being pulled and get overwhelmed or frustrated. I moved back from LA to be closer to my family because I missed having the opportunity to even get frustrated with all of the holiday overwhelm. I’m taking a step back and appreciating all the directions I’m being pulled. Because really, I’m very lucky.

One of my favorite trends right now is dressing in monochrome. I found this suit at Zara, and while it gives off some spring vibes, I can’t wait to wear it with booties too.
I normally don’t put this many photos of a look on my blog posts, but I couldn’t get enough of this set. And yellow makes me happy.
