Much to my mother’s dismay, I’m not a “girly girl”. Don’t get me wrong, I love expressing my femininity, just in ways that aren’t wearing pink and ruffles. I walked into her house last year wearing a tight black dress and white tennis shoes, and she looked at me and said, “Please tell me you’re putting on other shoes.” “No ma’am,” I responded. ‘Cause that’s what I do. Honestly, it’s mostly out of comfort. If I can up the “relaxed” factor of my outfit, I will. Lucky for me, tennis shoes or boots with dresses are in right now.

I was bullied into going into Aritzia the other weekend (not really, but I knew if I walked in there I would spend money, but my friend said, “we’re going in” and I bought this sweater dress). And don’t tell her, but it was maybe my best purchase of the season so far. I’ve worn it with over-the-knee boots, skinny jeans and booties or tennis shoes, and shown here with my moto boots and leather jacket. It’s probably the most versatile item in my closet right now, and I do not regret walking into Aritzia that day.
